ATLANTA, Ga. (May 15) -- STORD®, the pioneer of Networked Distribution, next-generation warehousing and distribution for modern shippers, today announced the relocation of its headquarters to Atlanta’s historic Biltmore Hotel, located directly across from Midtown’s Technology Square, a multi-block part of the Georgia Institute of Technology campus.
The new, larger office space can accommodate the rapid growth of the company, which was recently named the 13th fastest growing private company in Atlanta by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
"We plan to hire dozens of new team members in 2019. Being on the doorstep of Georgia Tech — one of the world’s premier technology institutions — we’re uniquely poised to reel in the best business and engineering talent,” said Sean Henry, founder and CEO, STORD. "Having our headquarters in Atlanta has proven extremely valuable in recruiting some of the best talent in supply chain and positioning us near many of our largest customers.”
In 2019, STORD plans to add over 50 new team members to the new office. Every department is primed for substantial growth, but the company’s plans are centered around engineering, sales, supply chain, marketing, and customer success.
“So far, 2019 has been our best year yet, as we’ve launched major upgrades to our platform for shippers, secured $12.3M in our Series A round, and helped many new shippers optimize their warehousing and distribution,” said Jacob Boudreau, CTO and co-founder, STORD. “Now, we’ve announced the opening of a new office directly across the street from some of the best technology talent in the country, Georgia Tech. Atlanta is fast becoming the technology center of the South, and we’re grateful to be a part of the thriving supply chain technology community here.”
The Biltmore was acquired by the Georgia Tech Foundation on Oct. 5, 2016 and is directly across West Peachtree Street from Technology Square, a multi-block part of the Georgia Tech campus that is home to the Scheller College of Business, the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center and the Advanced Technology Development Center. The Biltmore has a long history of housing technology startups and disruptors, and has been occupied predominantly by engineering firms, energy companies and late-stage technology startups, including Pindrop, Endgame, Kimley-Horn, and SouthStar Energy Services.
The new Midtown Atlanta headquarters will serve as the center for Networked Distribution, a hub for innovative solutions to some of the most challenging problems in modern distribution. “Our team is laser-focused on solving the challenges that arise when moving products across the globe and we’re committed to innovating our approach to the complex problems today’s shippers face,” said Henry. “Networked Distribution is a new model that we’ve created to meet these challenges, and this hub is a crucial step on STORD’s path to building a connected world by empowering modern shippers to move products brilliantly.”
