Meet Thea, Manager of the Customer Success team at Stord.
What did you do before Stord?
I worked in distribution, merchandising and sales for a Fortune 100 food and beverage company, focused on the seamless flow of frozen foods from our 3PL network to grocery retailers.
Why did you choose Stord?
In a sweet turn of irony, I had left my previous position frustrated with the fragmented, stagnant business environment of transportation and logistics. Finding Stord who is changing all of that for the customer was the answer to my previous frustrations. I understood what customers were dealing with and how they would immediately benefit from Stord’s business model.
What do you do at Stord?
I am the manager of the Customer Success team, ensuring that the customer experience is always top of mind. We help build stronger relationships with our current customers and resolve any issues if they occur.
What do you like most about your job?
I love that we work with several different internal teams to take a holistic look at our customers’ experiences and how we can improve it or what we can change internally to create more cohesion and efficiency. It’s a flexible role that allows me to think like a customer and create processes aimed at improving experiences.
How has Stord changed since you joined?
I joined in February 2020, when we were ~50 people working in an office together trying to create a name for ourselves in the market. Now, a year and a half later, we’re a global team of nearly 250 people, having closed two more funding rounds with a much clearer idea of who we are and what we need to do to achieve our goals. It’s been a rocketship of growth!
What excites you most about the year ahead?
Getting to expand my role, my team, and our initiatives to ultimately surprise and delight our customers.
What departments do you collaborate with? What is that like?
I work closely with all of the internal Supply Chain teams, specifically Warehouse Excellence, Planning, Implementations, and Procurement, who are all focused on developing and executing customers’ needs. Outside of Supply Chain, I work daily with Sales’ Customer Account Management to spearhead customer conversations, with Finance to make sure revenue is aligned with resources, and with People Operations to make sure we’re building the type of culture at Stord that is accepting of all.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I am a big fan of watching and playing sports and being outdoors, so I love football season, playing tennis, golfing, gardening, and hiking. When I’m inside, you can find me reading historical fiction or watching Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise.
